Intensely Personal Service

Starting from scratch. With nothing but a thought. An idea that you want to serve others. That is how we as wedding professionals end up in this life of service. It’s the hope of everyone in my industry that we are able to touch lives and create the perfect experiences for our clients! We live to serve and love what we get from our careers!

This EPIC shot of Kelsey and Ahmet is one of my favorites!
We Snapped this awesome portrait in the lobby of the hotel where these two got ready for their ceremony. They went with a reveal to see each other for the first time that day. Ask us about whether or not you might wanna do the same! 🙂
This bride was high on life! Surrounded by her loved ones and starting the next chapter in her life with her prince!

In Newport, Kentucky there is a new space. It’s intimate and cozy, yet fancy enough to give you that fairytale feeling! These things are just some of what sets “THE TURN VINTAGE WAREHOUSE” apart! The proprietor Wendy is as nice as she can be and it’s evident to me as a wedding professional that she knows how to take care of her clients, willing to go above and beyond at every ‘TURN’ to make sure their special day is nothing short of spectacular! You should check them out for your special occasion! :-). Find them here!! Looking to interview a husband and wife wedding photography team? You can do that HERE!

Tell your photographer to bring their off camera flash! The light is perfect for that low key ambience which means an additional light source will come in handy for those special moments.

Falmouth Kentucky’s Best Kept Country Wedding Secret!

Southern Ties is a wonderful little wedding venue out in Falmouth, Kentucky. Founded not long ago, they have already created quite a buzz in the local wedding community. They were hurled into the spotlight in 2018 when they were featured on the TLC program ‘Four Weddings With a Twist’!

The owner, Dawn Wood, couldn’t be sweeter! She’s hard working, hospitable and really has a sense of what a country barn wedding ought to feel like. The space is perfectly lit with the right shade of golden light and a wonderfully placed chandelier made for beautiful first dance pictures, if I do say so myself! Head on over to our Facebook for more shots from this beautiful venue! https://www.facebook.com/jordanphotographynky/?ref=bookmarks

Getting ready there is a breeze with the new addition of the bridal suite, located in the main house, it has all of the amenities you’d need for all of your preparations. A finished out building with a kitchenette and restroom facilities will not only keep your guests cozy, it’s the perfect place for your groom and his men to change into their wedding best!

In short, this place is just fantastic! The view is spectacular, the ownership and staff are simply the best and if it’s a fun, relaxed atmosphere you seek then look no further. Charity and I are particularly proud of this set of photos, too! Sarah and Corey looked amazing… The bridal party was good to go and we think their gallery really came together to tell the story of their wedding day!

A Detailed Story

As your photographers,  my wife Charity and I consider ourselves to be your eyes for all your special day brings. There are many stories to capture on your wedding day. Hair and makeup time alone is so full of tender moments among loved ones that it should be unthinkable to not cherish them in your wedding photography collection. Millions of fleeting moments get lost with time: parents shedding tears of joy, best friends reminiscing, and all of those little details that add to your tale. Moments that should be recorded in your wedding album for you (and family) to enjoy for generations.

Many of our favorite images from wedding days are those moments. It is always an absolutely pure, organic and photojournalistic set of photos! There are corsages being carefully placed, ties being tied, dresses and shoes being fastened, and real honest to goodness smiles! As your wedding photographers, we understand that the most genuine smile a person has is at the tail end of a laugh. That is the nucleus of what makes Charity and I tick as photographers.  We also like to take the time throughout the day to document all of the small* details that you and your planning committee have put so much effort into! Your old, new, borrowed, and blue things are important details to the story, and we will be sure to create wonderful images of all the moments you want to remember, from the groomsmens’ gifts to the fine details of your wedding cake.

A good storyteller will tell you the key is in the details.  Being present, focused, and ready is just part of being a wedding photographer.  It’s a skill that comes with time and experience. Pairing this concept with finding a unique setting for your wedding day shoes and jewelry to create beautiful image of the two together is something that Charity and I hang our hats on. It is how we will tell your unique story!

Here’s a small collection of little details and moments from weddings past that we really enjoy!

Growing with our clients!

Shandalyn and Mike… MIKE AND SHANDALYN! What can I say, we love this little family! We met them some time ago when they reached out to us for some family photos and we imidiatly hit it off. Their kids were the best and still are! Some time has passed since we met their family and the kids are getting so big! It’d been a pleasure working with them, getting to see their kiddos grow up and in the case of little Willow, be born!

Their first family portrait session was actually one of our very first. We met them in a park on the Covington side of the Ohio river and just had a wonderful time, hanging out and letting the kids frolic while Charity and I got some priceless photos! It was a fall mini session and the park was full of leaves to pile up and jump into and as I recall, we got some beautiful photos of mom and dad snuggling on the bench… something that will become more valuable with time to those little ones playing in the leaves!

The first meeting went so well that we were lucky enough to photograph them a few times since… one more park portrait session, an in home lifestyle session AND THEIR WEDDING! It was a lovely Wiedemann Hill wedding down in Newport, Kentucky! This has become one of our favorite venues. The calssic beauty of the building, the view, and the hospitality of their event planner and ownership are really something to make note of for Charity and me. It’s always so well kept and they take especially good care of their vendors!

The Reuters hold a special place in the heart of Charity and Me.  they’re sweet, good hearted folks and the relationship that they’ve had with Jordan Photography thus far has been priceless to us.  We’ve honed our skills with them, learned a lot about customer care and service through their willingness to give feedback and believe me when I tell you that to us they are irreplaceable!

Twice as nice

Close your eyes and imagine the scene. It was a sweltering hot august day in a small Kentucky berg called Camp Springs. The trees were lush and full and the sun and clouds were in perfect harmony in the sky, providing just the right light for an out door country wedding. The family was all there and believe me when I tell you there were plenty of folks at this shin-dig! The grooms dad is one of nine siblings and the bride’s family was all up from Florida to see the two families join together in wedded bliss! There were so many people there in that field having cold drinks, mingling and meeting new people and catching up with old friends that they hadn’t seen in a while. Did I mention it was HOT, HOT, HOT?!?! The temperature actually plays into the plot at this point… follow me on this. Someone had to go up the road and buy another big bag of ice. Not realizing how late in the day it had gotten, the GROOMS MOTHER was either elected to go or was just acting in accordance with her good nature and jumped in her car and shot down the way for the ice. I think you might know where this story is heading! The crowd was antsy and the heat was only getting hotter. the groomsmen’s white linen shirts were soaking through with sweat and it was close enough to the start time to talk the bride and groom into getting to the important part. They called everyone to their seats, had the dj cue up the music and started walking two by two down the aisle.

The ceremony was short and sweet and so it was on the the party! The music began and two by two the wedding party filed back down the aisle. I began to notice some groups chatting and pointing and before to long it had come to light that the grooms mom MISSED THE CEREMONY! She hadn’t made it back from her errand in time and apparently none of the organizers realized she had run down the road for ice! The groom called to find out where she was and sure enough, she was almost back. the decision was made by all to run through the whole thing again so mom could be there and so that’s what we did. Again, two by two the party walked down the aisle, met before the crowd and clergy and said their vows. the pictures were fantastic and everyone had a good laugh!

Personal Picture Monday

Me without a beard 🙂

A long, long time ago in a not so far off land there was a little blonde kid named Tommy. Tommy liked sport coats, had a kitten and lived in a cozy little house with his mom, dad, sister and brother. Everything was peachy-keen! He spent a lot of time playing trucks and riding a big wheel and loved to sing and dance too! Also, I don’t know if you noticed from the picture but he was a bit of a snazzy dresser! (I still like a nice sport coat)

It’s pictures like this one that help me to realize just how important being a portrait photographer is. I’m sure if you asked my mom about this picture it’d send her off on quite a tangent about the way things were and how I used to be… about how my sister and brother would pack me around and my dad was just as proud of me as he could be! What I can’t get over when I see this photo is just how much my little Stella Rae looks like me in the face! I mean it’s uncanny! Then I look in the mirror and wonder where the time went! Another thing I know about this photo is that, if I do my job right as a husband and father, then this photo will be just as valuable to my children and their children as the photos I have of my grand parents are to me. Thanks for reading!

A game of wall art

As you know, we now offer much more than a digital file of the pictures we make of  your family. Staying true to our mission, we are committed to putting art on your wall… I’ll even hang it up for you! We’ve spent countless hours researching our product line and have come up with some wonderful choices for our clients and for that matter, for us to hang in our own house!  Since we’ve started offering this service my head is filled with ideas for our own wall space!

Now that all of those decisions have been made it’s time for us to order some new studio samples!  Below are some example galleries I’ve designed using our actual product line. The samples we purchase as a result of this contest will go with us to meeting as a demonstration of the quality of the build of our frames, the craftsmanship involved in the stretching of the gallery wrapped canvases we carry and the professional level printmaking that our affiliate laboratories are capable of. I love all of these galleries but frankly it’s too difficult for me to decide which one to get and so we’ve decided to seek your opinion. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS LEAVE US A COMMENT WITH THE NAME OF YOUR FAVORITE COUPLES GALLERY! Feel free to pass along the link to this blog how ever you like… email, Facebook, Instagram so that as many of your friends and family can throw in their two cents and better your favorite couples chance at a date-night gift card! The date night is gonna be pretty sweet, too! How does TICKETS TO THE FERRIS WHEEL AND A TASTE OF BELGIUM sound?!  We need to buy our studio samples pretty soon so the contest is only gonna be for the month of June. Tell your friends to get out the vote!!

New products and service from Jordan Photography!

Hello and welcome! Charity and I are glad you’re here! I can’t begin to thank you enough for all of the encouragement and support over the course of the past four years. That being said, THIS IS ONLY THE BEGINNING! Moving forward we will seek to provide our clients with not only digital files but a hassle free way of displaying quality, archival artwork in your home. Our new process is going to be a much higher level of service starting with the very first consultation. In the beginning of our relationship, we will discuss with you all of the ways we can help you to display your portraits in your home. After your photos have been taken we can even SHOW YOU by putting a picture of your wall on our computer and letting you see your bright, smiling faces in frames on your wall in real time… TO SCALE! BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE! I’ll even come by when they’re printed, framed and delivered and like the handy-man that I am I’ll hang your wall art for you just like we designed in the previous meeting. I know, I know… WHAT SERVICE!!

The bottom line is this. We know first hand how important it is to hang portraits. When you decide to make an investment with us, we will see this idea through to the end. We have a few 21019 wedding dates available and are booking family portrait sessions as we speak!

The Jordan Photograph Experience

To my knowledge, none of our clients have ever dreamt of passing down image file number 123987.jpeg to their children’s children. Our process is super simple and is set up to provide a higher level of service to you as a client of Jordan Photography. Firstly we would like to meet in person so that we can get a feel for your personality and discuss all of the details of your engagement session and wedding day. Another reason for this consultation is so that we can discuss how you’d like to display your portraits whether that be as a gallery wrapped prints or mounted and framed by one of our professional affiliate printing companies. You can even  SEND ME PHOTOS OF THE WALL SPACE IN YOUR HOME  so that when we take your pictures I can design a gallery JUST FOR YOU and get the right artwork hung in your living spaces.

One of our most memorable couples! Here’s a wall art mock up designed by me from their engagement session!

Next is the big day!! We’ll meet up at the spot, have a great time doing pictures and getting just the right shots… paying special attention to the details we worked out in the planning meeting and shooting specifically for the way that you would like to display your artwork. We’ll make sure that your portraits go with the spaces we discussed, using all of the creative tools and knowledge I have available! After your shoot/wedding day I’ll come home, upload and backup your files and get to work editing all of the very best photos from the day’s photo shoot!

After all of the behind the scenes work is done I’d like to meet with you again and deliver you your gallery! We will sit down and do a reveal of your portrait and take the time to really pick just the right ones for you to display and give as gifts! The digital negatives come with all of our wedding day services and will be yours complete with a full print release however, our print vendors are reputable, vetted and are the industry standard for quality and service!

We’d like you to know just how dedicated we are to providing you with much more than just digital files. We strive to leave our clients with fine artwork of which you and your loved ones are the subjects!

This is one of my favorite mock ups from a wedding day yet! The silhouette of the the Groom and his mom dancing hangs nicely with this sweet portrait of the bride and her proud pappa in this family room space!

Finally!!!! It’s installation day! After all of that, about 3-4 weeks after your reveal session I will come over, hand deliver your artwork, AND HANG IT ON YOUR WALL!! This is something I look forward to almost as much as you because it really is a happy time. You and your family can step out of the room, I will install your wall art gallery and then… THE BIG REVEAL! That moment when you see what we’ve made together really is my favorite part! Your artwork will look so good in your home that I might even cry! 🙂

We strive to tell the story of your wedding day with an artful detail that is timeless and personal!

Charity and I can’t wait to see what the new year brings! If it’s bringing you wedded bliss, we’re so happy for you! If you’d like to meet us and start a conversation about our services you can reach out to us using this awesome link! https://calendly.com/jordanphotonky/session-planning-meeting
